I had booked 3 nights in the Alexander w/ 2 queen beds. My travel agency confirmation even showed 2 queens. Checked in at 1:30 AM w/ my mom & sister, only to find out they had us in a room w/ 1 queen bed (felt more like a double) and they had no rooms w/ 2 beds of any size for the remainder of the weekend! I had already paid for the hotel! So when it came time to tell the hotel they screwed up and I wanted my money back to book a different hotel for the remainder of the weekend, they kept stalling, saying that only the hotel manager could do that, and they expected him in at any moment, and he'd call me...for 3 days my phone never rang, and this is after digging further into my pocket to book another hotel on my own.

On top of that, if you want a cool SF location this one isn't bad, but don't plan on sleeping, as you're not really in Union Square, you're bordering on the Tenderloin district, and there's nothing but parties going on outside your window. Parking is attrocious, but the Alexander has valet parking available for 19/night! Holy cow!

For the price, the room wasn't any different than you'd find in Red Roof or Motel 6. Keep your money, or the Alexander certainly will!
